This is a program which brings workers to the U.S. to work in positions where they will be sharing some element of their culture with American customers.

We are working with a high-end Hispanic grocery store chain which is looking for a wide range of workers who will be able to combine their work as counter-attendants, stockers and food servers, among other positions, with some display of their own culture. This will include demonstrating a particular food from their country or even dressing up in native costumes and performing dances or songs. The store tries to bring the different Latin American cultures alive.

Duracion

We are offering several different start dates, though all should run for around 15 months (the length of time will vary depending on the company's needs) . Dates and numbers are:

1. Start date of July 15/August 15: Applications must be submitted by June 4: 55 total positions

2. Start date of October 1: Applications must be submitted by June 27: 200 total positions

3. Start date of November 1: Applications must be submitted by July 25: 200 total positions

Descripcion del trabajo:

The position title is: Customer Service and Cultural Exchange Representative.

They will be involved in the following job duties: Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise on merchandise selection. Itemize and total customer merchandise selection at checkout counter, using cash register, and accept cash or charge card for purchases. Prepare food such as sandwiches, salads, and ice cream dishes, using standard formulas or following directions. Take customers' orders and write ordered items on tickets, giving ticket stubs to customers when needed to identify filled orders. Operates cash register or electronic scanner. Take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished. Gather and empty trash. Receives sales slip, cash, check, voucher, or charge payments and issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customer. Bags, boxes, or wraps merchandise. Deliver orders to kitchens, and pick up and serve food when it is ready. Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise. Cleans display cases, counters, equipment, shelves, and aisles.

Pay Rate:

$7.00 per hour
